The journey
Learning across Brazil
Mateus Gato trained extensively in Brazil under Mestre Boca de Peixe, a student of Mestre Reinaldo from Belo Horizonte. His journey has taken him through São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Salvador, learning from different masters and communities.
He returns to Brazil every year to train and take part in important events, staying connected to the roots and living culture of Capoeira.
Instrutor M. Gato played a fundamental role in building the Capoeira CPPA group in Poland at a time when Capoeira was still in its infancy in the country.

Lucas
Lucas is the assistant teacher at Capoeira East Finchley. He supports Mateus during classes, helps students work through movements and makes sure new students feel welcome and confident as they begin training.
