A word from Instrutor M Gato
More than training
My vision for this club is to build a community of like-minded people who believe in real human connection, built through hard training, making music together, and truly connecting through the beautiful art of Capoeira.
Capoeira in East Finchley was founded by Instrutor Mateus Gato in 2024. We are an official CPPA affiliate, closely connected to the wider community through training and events across Brazil, Poland, Germany and Greece.

A global family
CPPA was founded on 24 March 2000 by Mestre Boca de Peixe and Mestre Porquinho. The group teaches respect, creativity and community while celebrating Afro-Brazilian heritage through movement, music and education.
Operating across Brazil and internationally in Germany, Poland, Greece and the United Kingdom, the school reaches more than 1,000 students through classes, cultural events and social projects.
How we train together
Club conduct
Arrival time
Arrive 5–10 minutes early. Classes begin promptly at 20:00.
Uniform
White trousers, belt and group T-shirt show that you are ready to train.
Responsibility
Help set up instruments, keep the space clean and treat it with respect.
Community
Welcome newcomers and share knowledge generously.
